How To Get Books for a Dollar or Less

books for less than a dollar

About a decade ago I developed a bad habit.  I joined several book clubs and got tons of books for a low price.  I did this over and over and amassed quite a library.  I was always on the lookout for inexpensive books on Amazon and I never passed up the clearance tables at the bookstore.  Add to that my collection of homeschooling textbooks, workbooks, chapter books, etc and you can imagine that my bookshelves were overflowing in a short time.

About my love of books, I’ve comforted myself with the thought that at least I don’t collect shoes or dolls or something else more expensive, but less practical to me.  Still, I’ve been convicted to cut down on the amount of stuff in my home and culling my books has been a rewarding process.

This year I decided to only buy Kindle books and ebooks.  With the exception of a few of my grad school textbooks that don’t offer a digital version and some of my children’s books and homeschooling material, I am slowly transitioning my library to be completely digital.

It’s neater, it’s easier to bring on trips, and it’s simpler to have all of my books in one place — on my Kindle.  And, now, thanks to Buck Books, it’s inexpensive!

I used to spend time scouring Amazon for inexpensive books.  It’s time consuming, to say the least.  That’s where Buck Book comes in.  They scour Kindle for me, put together a list of books of a various genre that are less than one dollar and send me an email to let me know.  Easy peasy!  All of the books are listed in one place and I don’t have to continue to check on  a book to see if goes on sale.

Buck Books has saved me time and money while supporting my love for reading.
